AirDog lift pump bypass
Ok my dad has an 08 ford 6.4 3/4 ton and the dealership said the lift pump went out when we took it in cuz it wasnt running right. Well they want $2,400 to put a new one on and they said they have to take the cab off to do it. So dad said that was fine and just get it fixed...... 4 weeks and they still havent even gotten it in the shop yet to start on it. So we just went up there and got it today.
My question is could i just put a $600 air dog on it and bypass the factory lift pump? Would tht not be way cheaper and easier?? And also can i get to the fuel lines without having to take the cab off?? Can i do this whole deal without taking the cab off??
Thanks in advance for any help

At that price, and having to take the cab off... sounds more like the HPFP (high pressure fuel pump) and no you can't just bypass that.
The HPFP can in fact be done cab on, little longer to do, but CAN be done. They're not cheap though.
The Airdog is a low pressure "lift pump" which basically feeds fuel at a low pressure to a higher pressure pump, the HPFP on the 6.4 pushes out like 29,000 psi...
