Default 5th Wheel Question

I'm about to start hauling RV's for a company and need to put a 5th wheel in my truck. My question is.....If i find one on craigslist or somewhere for sale for cheaper, would it matter if it came out of a dodge or chevy? Are they all universal or are they truck specific? My F250 is an 03. So if they are truck specific, my body style is 99-03, would one work from a 04-07 as well or no? Any help would be great. I've never had to deal with 5th wheels before.

It depends on the style. Most are universal.

Is your truck a shortbed? Certainly looks so from the pictures...

Yea its a shortbed. So i'd definitely be looking for a slider one that way i don't smash the cab with the trailer

would you be pulling any goosenecks too? if so I would look into a B&W setup. where you can use either type hitch

I just got the B&W set up it's nice. I already had gooseneck ball when I bought the truck. pd around $700 for the 5th wheel rig alone.
The mounting brackets I believe are truck specific and not a slider.
