Oh I thought y'all were talking about painting the actual housing behind the glass and covering up the chrome (like between the headlight and the turn signal)

Just takes time and tinkering man, and a LOT of reading on the forums. I know there are a few guys (myself included) on here that do all of their own work. I have had my trucks engine down to the short block when doing my studs and helped a couple buddies get theirs down that far and back together. I also have the type of personality that loves knowing how things work and can only get the information from getting my hands dirty. The 6.0 is more or less a pushrod V8 once you get down into the heart of it.

The 6.0's aren't bad at all to work on or figure out. The worst part of anything about a 6.0 is getting your hands in all the tight places. That's what takes up most time on working on them in my opinion. Everything is squeezed in there. (That's what she said ). Had to throw that in there.

That's how I did it. My tails I just sprayed over, but the headlights I baked and pulled apart and painted the bezels inside.

There were some write up's on the ORG to do it, that I followed.

Honestly... I would just buy the harley lights on ebay. They're like $140 for a pair or something. I spent an entire afternoon sweating over burning hot headlights trying to pry them apart and then paint them and going back together was kind of a pain too.

If you really want to save some $ and do it yourself, find a junk pair of headlights to practice on first, it will make the lights you do on your truck look so much better, trust me. If I did this again... well I wouldn't, I'd buy the lights on ebay.

Though, the one thing I like about mine more than the ebay lights, I have NO amber in my headlights at all.

Where did you find your headlights? Or were they the stock ones? I'd love to have a pair without the ambers. They look SOOOO much better.

I yanked my stockers off and tore them apart. Wish I just bought the ebay specials after. I will say, they do look good on the truck. Hopefully washing my truck tonight, I'll snap some pics for you. They're completely black on the inside, minus the chrome reflectors for the bulb.

Saw a truck today that was pretty close to stockers but had LEDs between the headlight and blinker, anyone know of these?
