mystery peice in the oil pump?
found this in the oilpump on one of my F550's maby a nidelbearing or a pice of wire? can anyone ID it... backgroung on the truck is 200k 06 F550 I bought it as a non running truck the old owner was just tired of the problems. when I got there was no oil pressure at all .found it last night on taredown. I was going to put a uesd gear and grease it up to get it to prime and see it another problem is there. if no other problems are heard, should I just pull the front cover look in the pan for more parts wash out the pan and let it go?

That is a needle bearing out of a roller lifter, good thing you found this now, a failed lifter can destroy one of these engines. you are goint to have to remove the heads to get the lifters out, good time to upgrade to studs since you are going to have them off, not the first time I've seen the same thing, although the others were worse and had done alot of damage.
