have a code. assistance please.
P2285 just came up. How hard is it to change the icp on a 2003 6.0 since its on the back of the motor. Easier to go from the top or underneath?
Do u have to take the Turbo out?

when the icp goes bad is that what also causes a small oil drip out of the back of the motor just above the bell housing??

Not much room back there to swing a wrench/socket, I use a 1 1/16" open end wrench, cut down to 4.5" long.
Yes, a failed ICP can cause oil leaking, make sure you get the replacement wire harness and plug.
Quite common on the early ones. Replace the ICP sensor and the pig tail going to it. The oil leak is what causes it to go bad typically. The oil corrodes the wiring. This is why the ICP sensor was moved to the passenger side valve cover in later years.
thank ya'll for the help. not looking forward to doing this. figured i'm gonna hopefully get it done this weekend. ordering a 5" straight piped exhaust with a 4" downpipe and 6" tip that I would like to put on at the same time as the icp to get it all done at once. Then clearance lights.
