Yeah I don't what the heck would cause it to turn over slower... that's odd. I was going to say if the HPOP was replaced/pulled and drained, it would take a while to prime itself up again with oil if it was empty, but that wouldn't make it harder to turn over. That's odd.

The new STC fitting should cure the previous issues from the old one. We change them in our trucks too.

It might not hurt to pull the IPR and inspect it too. Might need a new screen and o-ring on that, though I can't see that making it hard to turn over.

I'll check that too. This bus got put on the back burner for a little bit until I get caught up on all the little crap. I'm the only mechanic for a fleet of 30 school buses and trying to keep up with them all is driving me nuckin' futs!

I tried grounding the battery straight to the block with the same results. It's showing low voltage but I have no idea why. The batteries are new and they checked out fine. Any idea what could be causing the low voltage issue?

Check the grounds to the motor, right next to the AC pump, and on the frame right below the drivers side batt. Make sur the ground jumper is good from pass side cyl. head to body. Check pos cable end to end from both batts.

Ok. Keep in mind this is in an IC school bus and not a pickup.

Yeah, it depends on where batteries are located, one ground will go to frame and other should go right to the block, should be between the harmonic dampener and pass side of block. make sure there is a jumper to from frame to motor also. Try using both leads of jumper cables from ground of batt to block, it just doubles the ampacity.

Will do.

It's still strange how it would crank over normally before and now it drags ***.

You did try pulling the belt/s right? if so its got to be a wire, either gound or positive.
