Water in Fuel light

I drained mine and flushed the inside out with carb cleaner. You wouldn't believe the amount of rust and water that came out. Swapped the steel plug out with the updated brass. I try to drain it every month or so ive been slacking here recently.

So to take off the housing you need to disconnect the fuel lines that run thru it correct? I realize it maybe a stupid question but have tried the draining and now looking to follow the rest of you guys advice, just want to make sure I have the correct tools to do it.
