Default fuel pressure light

sooo i have an 01 cummins with a vp 44 im having issues with the low fuel pressure warning light coming on even though the fuel pressure gauge is reading ok 13-14 psi light sender is set for 9 psi its a brand new one the previous one was set at 4 psi but it still flickered even at 13 psi. the gauge has a snubber but the sender for the light does not. are the pulsations from the pump screwing with the sender? it has an older style fass pump but is still running through the factory fuel water seperator. any ideas?

Are you dead set on running the light and the fuel pressure guage at the same time?

yes i like monitoring the gauge for pulling hills when towing and i like having the light for when rig pigs think their fords are fast. hard to remember the gauge is there on hard pulls sometimes.
