Default New oil cooler

Has anyone tried the New oil cooler that IPR is selling? Says it has lager openings in the core area to help prvent clogging. They seem to be priced right in line with the Ford ones so it would be good to get a little more info on them.

Haven't heard about it until now. I'm always skeptical of changing anything that effect flow in a coolant system. Speeding up flow isn't always a good thing, and I've studied enough thermodynamics to at least be questionable. It could be a good product though. I'm hoping my new OEM cooler will survive just fine with a coolant filter in place and some different coolant possibly. I may even stick with Ford Gold just to prove a point...

Sorry Mike, but while there are a small percentage of us that can free think and disseminate information, most keyboard commandos will site your reliance on the demon fluid (aka Ford Gold) as the down fall to modern civilization as we know it. Did you see the beating I got for daring to speak out against the almighty True Trac on PSA?

I would like to see more information on this cooler, also. These are the same guys who offer the remote cooler that incorporates a complete coolant filter, not just a bypass. However, I think their remote oil cooler is an air cooled unit. I could be wrong, but I only saw two lines going to it (oil in/oil out).

Bottomline is, will the larger water passages hinder or help oil cooling? It doesn't look like that radical of a change and anyone who has gone from a 4x0.25" tube copper/brass radiator to a 2x1" aluminum radiator can tell you the aluminum is mucho bettero!

Their remote cooler is a water cooled cooler, they use the original design cooler with an adapter plate so it can be remote mounted, look at the pics of it on their site, 2 blue AN fittings for the oil and 2 brass fittings for the coolant. They use a dummy part to rout the oil and coolant under th original oil cooler cover to where it needs to go. Alot less machine work/cost/ to make a remote system, and one that is still cooled by coolant.

Not sure I would like to be a guinea pig on this one. It is a bit costly also.
