Default Boost leak/oil spray

This one was bugging me for a short while. Amazing the things you can know, and the simplest things will give you such trouble. Been having this "whooshing" noise above 13-15psi, that only got louder with boost. I wrote it off to the truck pushing coolant and bleeding pressure out of the cap. It wasn't the usual "tea kettle" whistle, but I am using a Napa coolant cap, and wrote that off to it being a different cap. Whatever. I open the hood one day and notice oil in the front near the drivers side battery/headlight area. WTF is this? How did this get here? I don't see anything leaking down below, and can't trace where it even came from. I drive it more, every few weeks there seems to be a little more oil. Oil level is good. Weird. Finally someone tells me to check the CAC tube on that side. Apparently the junky plastic piece Ford used has been known to crack, and there at one point was even a TSB to update to the "old" metal tube with rubber boots. So I ordered the part from Tousley @ $105 or so, metal pipe came, included both new rubber boots and all 4 clamps to do the job. Here's the pics I took, fixed all my issues. P/N is 6C3Z-6C640-AA

I even picked up about 8psi on top just by fixing this...

Oil spray you say?...

Hard to see on the headlight, but there is an oil streak down the front

I didn't snap a pic, but this was so bad that my drivers side mirror chrome cap has an oil film on it.

Also took this time after everything was back together to give the underhood a full douching with purple power and then a good rinse after. Should look much better under there now.

If your crankcase breather puts that much oil into your CAC how long does it take until your intercooler is plugged up with oil

It's not so much that it pumps that much in there, it's more that there's probably a decent amount built up in there over the last 100k miles. It really isn't that much oil, it just looks a lot worse than it is. A little bit went a long way here. I haven't heard of any intercoolers actually plugging up as of yet though. Some guys do the CCV mod and redirect it to the atmosphere or sometimes a catch can. I just never saw the need.
