The link says in stores only, it was that much in Taunton, MA. Might be different in other places.

What oil are you referring to? A 5w-40, still meets the same 40wt bracket per the SAE J300 with better cold flow properties than the 15w40. The 10w-30 has a lighter operating weigh obv. but I know some people have run it in hot conditions with good results. Check out bob is the oil guy.... lots and lots of UOAs there.

You will have no issues with the 10w-40. Like I said before both meet 40 wt requirements, T5 is 14.5 mm^2/s and triple protection is 15.5...both in the 12.5-16.3 range that the SAE considers a 40wt...

SAE J300

Probably wont hurt, but if I was towing real heavy or hauling a lot, I'd stick with the 40 in the hotter climates.

I know there are guys that use it though.

So long it is diesel rated (CI or Cj 4) you should be fine. Outside of Canada there isn't that many 5w30 diesel oils. Amsoil makes a good one... Spendy but good. Unless you live near the artic circle I doubt you will notice much of a difference between it and 10w30
