Default Magnet in tranny pan

Ok so I just dropped the tranny pan there is no magnet inside.. Thought this seemed odd but I've never dropped the pan before on an electric transmission should I put one in or is that how it's supposed to be?

Why would there need to be a magnet? There's two filters, an internal and external, that should be catching anything going through there.

There is a debris screen internally and a micro filter externally. The magnet is there ...it looks like part of the pan right at the drain plug.

For the 2008 and newer trucks Ford used a actual filter internally.

Its there as another precaution because like everything else on trucks things fail. I know alot of trucks have magnets espicially fords no pun intended.

Yep I agree..I was surprised at the amount of gunk on the magnet when I did the '08 pan swap.

Weird that mine dose not have a magnet I called around and cannot find one to put in. It does have third two filters but it would be nice to see what it's collecting I know there's a magnet in the toilet paper filter area
