Default 03 6.0 backfire type sound?? help

Hey yal i have a 03 f-250 6.0 4x4 144k bullydog/bd boost fooler/straight piped. About two weeks ago my truck started making an odd backfire sound from the exhaust at around 2500-3500rpm, it does not blow any kinda smoke when it does it what so ever. If i get on the interstate and get on it a couple times itd run jus fine until i let it sit for bout an hour. Last night i pulled my egr valve out and it seemed pretty ok, but when i ran my finger around the intake i pulled out a fairly good bit of soot particulate. I cleaned it out the best i could and put it all back together today. Then when i got it up to around 2500rpm it made the same sound exept it was a lil worse sounding/still no smoke of any kind when it does it. finally after bout 5 min of drivin i was at a stop light and just laid into it all the way. After that it didnt make the sound anymore. my cts monitor has read about 3 different codes for the egr before but i erased them and they havent showed back up...Anyone else experienced this problem or can help me? I have a new oil cooler and egr delete kit on the way for it...with that help it?

Does it do it if you put the truck back to stock tuning? You shouldn't be running the boost fooler with the BD. The boost fooler is basically for stock trucks without tuning.

So the problem goes away when the truck gets warmed up too?

Does it just do one loud bang like an old V8 gasser? Or is it a milder sound that repeats a couple times in a row?

Batteries good? Might be worth having them load tested, and then testing your FICM too. I would always do these two steps before touching any injectors, just as a precaution.
