Well anything that comes in contact with oil could be classified as part of the lubricating system, but no it's main purpose is to regulate the temperature of coolant and oil and try to keep them close.

well so far they only want to cover the egr cooler, egr valve, head gaskets, oil and coolant, + labor, but they dont want to cover the oil filter or oil cooler and some other stuff.
the total job is like 6500 they wanna pay 2200 leaving me with about 2700$ to pay out. but im about to make my go arounds with them

Why wouldn't they pay for an oil filter? WTF? As for the oil cooler, it's the root cause of all these other problems, when that thing gums up, everything else goes to hell.

The oil cooler rebuild kit is only $231 though... so even if they didn't cover that, not the end of the world. Labor shouldn't be anymore, they're already torn in at that point.

$6500??? Where on earth did you bring this thing?

Also, $6500 - $ 2200 = $4300!?

they said total job was about 6500. but since im providing the kit it knocks it down more.
4300 was what i would have to pay if i didnt provide anything.

I don't see where you're getting $800 and change for the parts, but the parts list isn't very specific. My guess is that's a NEW oil cooler, just get the rebuild kit, no need for a "new" one... that'll probably save $250 right there.

Also labor hours sound like they're taking the hours Ford says they have to do the job, but on an individual basis and ADDING them all up... most of the hours are a wash since they're already in there doing the job.

Looks like you've also got the deductible in there for stuff covered and stuff not covered... if it's not covered, you don't have to pay another $200 deductible right? Or am I reading this wrong? Why are they not covering the oil cooler? What is the reasoning here? Is the Ford garage going to bat with you on any of this? I don't get the reasoning for covering some stuff and not others. The oil cooler is most likely what led to all of these other issues. Tell them you're not going to replace the oil cooler on your dime, and they can keep paying for repairs over and over because they don't want to replace the one $231 part....

i know its a vague break down list but thats what the dealership sent me. and the warranty is a aftermarket extended warranty they said that the oil cooler is not listed under my contract
a new oil cooler is about 270$
i spoke with a friend of mine at another dealership and he said the oil cooler calls for 8 hrs
i think we will be visiting this dealership today to get this worked out.
