Not as often as I should on the oil changes. 5000 plus maybe 8000 is the most its ever gone without a change. I may have ruined the injectors. I am using fram filters. Got the new stc installed. The old one was intact but it slipped back an forth preety easy maybe 1/8 inch. Does this sound like a failed stc. The dummy plugs I replaced looked good no cracks etc so I dont think they were the problem. Still putting it back together so ill let everyone know how it goes tomorrow.
STC slack mean failed?

Sure sounds like it....

Fram oil filters are ok to use for the 6.0, because they're the exact same filter as the motorcraft units. Just avoid using the filters that have their own caps.

I bet it starts just fine after the new dummyplugs/stand pipes and STC fitting. Whether the stand pipes looked ok or not, they have an updated design out that will hold up much better. For $100 or whatever it is, is it worth tearing back into it again?

All rightt finally had a chance.to put it all together today. Got it started and still has a little miss but its not shutting down after it gets hot and it starts when its hot now. Here is what I have got I can here a I think exhaust leak. Also my turbo is not showing any boost on the guage panel. and like i said.it has a miss. Also when i start it hot the engine idles then drops to 500rpm a few times then it will idle ok but has a miss and slow throttle responce. What do you think? I may have a crack in my upper fuel filter cap I can here a little suction going on there. Does it sound like an air leak or do you think i fubar the stc installation.:ouch

If you are not sowing boost i bet the MAP sensor hose is off, on the pass side of intake the is a small rubber hose that comes right off the top of intake, hose barb, and connects to the map sensor wich is hanging off the cowl area right to the left of the turbo. this is what shows the computer the boost, also if it is not hooked up it will sound like an air leak.

It is idling rough and accelrating slow. If you let it idle for fifteen minuets it will die but it will restart aftertwo minuets and rev up fine then it will die after fifteen minuets. I can keep it from dieing by giving it a little fuel. What do you think it could be?

I fixed the exhaust leak it was a loose clamp on back of motor. And i have boost pressure now. map sensor was unhooked.

I'm thinkin about it, it might be a good idea to put a fuel presure guage on it even if it is temporary, with that delaminating tank there could be a blockage somewhere in the system.

My guess is something was left unattached during reinstall...

Still nothing showing on the boost gauge right?

How long has it run, it does need to bleed air out of the high pressure oil system. I think Ford says something like 3000rpms sustained for 3 full minutes to bleed them.

yes its showing boost now. The map sensor was disconnected. It has run a few hrs now. A new sympttom im geeting now is when you push the fuel pedel it revs up and kind of sticks a second before it comes back down to idle. And after five minuets of running it wont rev pass 1500 rpm. Then shortly after it will die off and wont restart for about 5 min. The whole time it runs real rough and at idle it looks like a drag car the way it shakes back and forth

This thing really needs to be put on a scanner...

The only time mine ever shook and idled rough like that was with a defective FICM on it. Have you tested that out of curiosity?
