Alot of 6.0Ls have that, and guys have seen REV-X oil additive make a difference. Here's a thread with a test we did, and the guys feedback:

MDUB--are you still using REV-X?

Can I add the rev x on top of the oil or do u have to leave some oil out and add rev x. I am changing oil this weekend and I dnt think I will get the rev x befor then. So would I be fine to just add it next week?

Yes, that would be okay, you can add the REV-X at any time.

Here's a link to it:

Most people start with the starter kit.

I used it that one time and never got it again. It was just too much $$ for me. It never really worked all the way through my oil change either. Though, I'm finding I'm a rare case. It worked AWESOME for the first 1000-1500 miles, but by the time 3000 miles rolled around I was right back where I begin. However, since then I've also got new batteries, a bunch of different FICM's to try (since I repair them, I get to try a whole bunch), and some new injectors in there under warranty too.

It's funny you asked though, I actually ordered 2 more bottles yesterday through Deranged Performance. I plan on trying it again. I know this stuff works and works well, I think at the time I just had too many separate issues going on for the Rev-X to overcome. I am still a believer in the product, thus my order for some more yesterday. It's just a tough pill to swallow paying more for 2 bottles of Rev-X than I did for the 4 gallons of oil and the oil filter for an oil change...

Just add it in. You can add it at any time. Obviously if you're 3/4 of the way through an oil change, just wait til you put fresh oil in, but that's your call. The stuff works wonders man.

I typically only put 14 qt's of oil in my truck anyways. I've read these motors are VERY easy to overfill as 15 qt's is very close to that, and 14 vs. 15 isn't going to make any difference on the dipstick. I buy 15, put 14 in the truck and throw a qt in the toolbox or under the seat...

I'm glad you're trying it again. You really have done a lot since then. Let me know how using the Rev-X goes.

If you like it, order it from us again, you paid more with the other guy..

Good to know. You're Andy right? I think I even still have your phone # saved on my cell. Andy Wilson from Rev-X?

I figured I wasn't getting the best deal, but he's also a sponsor on another site I visit a lot, try to support those that support you right? I will keep you in mind for next time for sure. Shoot me a PM anyways with the cost shipped to me for 2 bottles...

Actually, Marge with Black Cloud, but Andy worked directly with you and some of the other guys testing the Rev-X last year.
I didn't realize Deranged was also a sponsor. I hear you about supporting more than the same one every time.
I do the same thing when it comes to my local purchases, too. I try not to always buy from the same stores, but help support all the local businesses when I buy.
I'll PM you pricing for future reference.

Ahh ok, I recognized the username, wasn't sure. Well thanks for stopping in our lowly 6.0 section Marge!

You should stick around here, lots of guys who need some Rev-X and never know where to get it. We 6.0 guys tend to stay in our own section here
