Code P2284???
Hi i have been working on the exact same issue for a while now. Replaced hpop/ipr/icp and same thing happened, i went through every thing over and over and today i finely went back in to the hpop and pulled the new ipr to find the screen was plugged and collapsed from debris in the oil. Might be worth looking into.
Okay curosity killed the cat. We tore into this thing today. Retested the FICM and found it never went below 48.2 volts koeo, cranking and koer. We checked all the wiring and connector to the icp, the ipr, the ficm, the pcm, the injectors, the grounds etc. No issues. Everyone has said ipr, so for satisfaction we pulled the regulator and sure enough the screen is pushed in and mutilated. We are optimmistic that this will fix the issue. I will let you know tomorrow when i get a new screen kit and repalce it. I will be drinking to this if it fixes it!
Yea, we didn't think that this was going to be the result, but many guys have said they have had to replace the ipr screen after they did a hpop repair because of debris that was in the system. I am really frustrated that the Ford dealer wouldn't stand by the repair they did 3 weeks ago and just wanted to throw more parts at it. If this is the absolute fix to the problem, they have not heard the last of it. I have even made a couple of calls to the Ford's customer service department about this telling them that I felt the dealer did an improper repair and they just want to sell me more needless parts, and asked what could they do for me. They would do absolutely nothing. Something that will certainly be taken into consideration when I have the urge to spend another $30,000 to $50,000 for a new car or truck!!
I found the same thing with Ford's customer the last time my truck was at a dealer. The only option I had was to leave the dealer negative feedback... like that'll do a lot of good. My truck was on the lot for about 2 months. The first month they never even touched my truck or returned my calls, and I had made an appointment to bring it there! Enough ranting about that, it's done and over with and I'm glad I'm out of warranty now.
It's fixed, just got back from a road test. It ran out good. No thanks to my local Ford "Stealer". I won't mention their name, but if you ever need a dealer in Claremont NH, get a tow truck to tow you to the next town with a Ford dealer!!!
this kind of makes sense, since the IPR gives feedback on how much it is opening and closing, not on actual flow through it, so it says its bleeding off presure but if its blocked then the presure can't be blead off like the computer thinks it is so ICP actual will be higher than ICP desired..
Nope, re-used the IPR that the stealer put in a few weeks ago. Replaced the o-rings and the screen on the end of the ipr.

There has been a lot of guys on multiple sites that have said they did a HPOP and regulator and within a few miles they had running problems and the screen is dented in and full of debris. They swap the screen and the problem is fixed. That was the case here. It is usually because the HPOP system or reservoir isn't properly cleaned when the HPOP or associated tubes are repalced.
