Default Code P2284???

i have a 2007 Ford F 250 with a 6.0 diesel with 97k miles. The truck always ran fine. on december 31 i was driving down the road and it shut off. after some time
my local ford garage found it to be my HPOP, they replaced it along with the ipr, and oil cooler. when they put it back together it wouldnt run correctly with engine codes P2284, P2288. they said i needed a new fuel pump and my fuel pressure regulator needed a rebuild kit and it wont be covered under my 5 year 100k warranty so i took the truck back and replaced the fuel pump and did the rebuild kit myself and still not running correctly. the only code i have now is P2284 any help would be greatly appreciated. the truck starts hard and runs really rough until it gets some temperature then it runs better butn not right. when its at idle in park and i rev it up the engine seems to hold the rpm up for a second and then will come back down. it also has a knock after i let of the throttle!!

Did they cover the HPOP - mine went at 99,100 and was covered.

Interesting that it starts hard runs rough now - mine does the same thing and come to think that started after the dealer did the HPOP

I haven't - I am a newbie and that is why I am here. For right now I just plug it in and let it idle for a few and then buck down the road until it reaches temp.

I tested the FICM (easy to do - follow this link - https://www.dieselbombers.com/ford-p...procedure.html) and mine tested fine.

Will be trying some Rev X on next oil change. Currently I have 157,000 plus on the truck. Once I get some cash will be getting a good scanner to check codes and then start from there. My gut feeling tells me it is the glowplugs or the controller.

I have learned so much from the guys here it is amazing how willing they will help with your questions. Just make sure you give them the needed info ie truck year, mileage, trouble codes etc.
