need opinions on an inventions in the making
So after owning nothing but lifted trucks and working on them my self I had this idea on an invention.
Basically it would be kind of like a pad that would securely fasten to your engine bay and be supported by your core support. I came up with this idea after working on my own trucks and having to basically lay across my engine for hours at a time with a hood latch in my kidney. It's in idea stages right now I have a few cad drawings and a detailed list of its materials used.
My question to you guys is
1. Would a product like this be appealing to you?
2. What would you expect to pay for comfort while working on your truck
3. Has any one ever seen something like this
I'm trying to figure out if its worth it to invest the money it would take to put it on the market or if I should just have them made and sell them via word of mouth. If/when I go through with it I'd be giving away a few to some of you to try out and give me your ideas on it.
There is a lot more too it but i cant give away to much info on it but feel free to ask questions

My idea is somewhat similar to that top side creeper but not so bulky and complex my idea is pretty much a pad that would be water/oil/puncture/tear resistant and would more or less lay on your core support. The bottom of it would be soft enough to absorb weight so it wouldnt bend or break your hood latch or anything else but firm enough to not be able to feel it on top of that would be a softer material so it would be comfortable and not kill your knees and such. Material costs in bulk would be pretty low so it would prob be in the neighborhood of 30-50 dollars depending on the cost of meterial for the final product

There is a pad pretty much the same as what your idea is. I cant remember the name of it but my uncle uses them while working on Cal Fire trucks. It Tri-Folds. is flexible, padded and oil /water resistant. I have used it on near freezing ground with a lot of rocks and no cold seeps up nor rocks poke you. Its bright orange. About 3 ft wide and 5ft long folded out. Not sure if there is other colors. It doesnt fasten to anything but works. Ill get ahold of him or do a search for it and get back to you.
Did find the Jeeper Creeper pads which is similar to what I used. Jeeper Creepers run about $25 to $30. The topside Creeper above I have found at $200 to $260.
