Default Barking turbo

I recently bought a 2006 crew cab shortbed, no mods have been done to my knowledge. Unless I take off like I am hauling dynamite, every time i get over 10 psi and let off the throttle the turbo barks back at me. Louder the harder I go and let off, should I be concerned about this bark

that is normal, these do not have wastegates, should hear it when at 36psi and let off quick with aftermarket inake, kinda sounds like an old steam engine

I also have an 06 6.0 PSD and also get the barking - was worried about it (didn't know what it was) until I just saw a video on YouTube showing it. I never noticed it until I put a K&N air kit on.

Commonly referred to as "turbo fart" it's just air going back out the intake. You can make it go away by changing your style of driving. I wouldn't purposely do it over and over...

I didn't make it up, but it's definitely the terminology used for it on the boards!

I do not typically try to make it fart but I do enjoy getting on the throttle and try not to go faster than 10 M.P.H. over in the process.

You can certainly get on it, it's how you let off the throttle that will dictate if it farts or not. Just let off smoother, not an abrupt foot off the pedal kind of thing. You'll learn it as you drive it more.

If ur pulling a heavy trailer up a hill and let off it does it pretty loudly also. I heard it also makes the turbo spin backwards for a second also. Is that true?
