Scoop, diverter, call it what you want but its over half the diameter of the up pipe and feeds from the right up pipe to the EGR cooler. I'll post a picture later.

Karl, not all the trucks had that "scoop/diverter" it was only in certain years of up-pipes. Some up-pipes had nothing, just the hole in the side feeding the egr cooler. They didn't add the scoop until later to further improve emissions testing. If yours had it, it was a newer up-pipe put on there then.

You're right though, the main problem is keeping the exhaust from entering the intake in the first place! The freeze plug trick definitely works and is probably what I would do if I was in Cali. The bulletproof units are really nice, but I'd rather spend my money on beers.

Short of a photo for y'all to interpret, I would say it could best be described as a y-pipe that comes off the up pipe about 1.5~2 inches.

BulletProof is VERY proud of their wares. I concur with the plugging, I have also seen welded coolers for sale. I would be afraid of that freeze plug coming loose and ending up in someone's windshield. Just a reflection on some poor maintenance I did as a kid.

Mmmm beeeeeer

Ok so here's my newest problem. Im getting a weird buzzing noise from the top of the fuel filter housing. Sorta sounds like Im having a tuff time building pressure? My fuel pressure gauge is not here yet, it will be in a few days. Here's a video anyone have any ideas?

Karl, the freeze plug goes into the input end of the cooler, you have to drive it in there then you bolt it back up to the uppipe like normal, it looks legal but nothing can enter the cooler now
is that A STOCK FUEL PUMP?

As promised, a pic to be interpreted.

Yeah, in the 05 and up if you look into the long section of pipe you will see a intrusion into about a third of the way into the pipe from a scoop, it realy hurts flow
