Default 2007 6.0 Purchase

alright, I've been looking but finding a ram or duramax diesel seems to be challenging for the same price as the ford. I think the 6.0 can pull as hard.

dealership I know will do whatever work I ask for up front on the truck due to a long standing relationship. (they've made a ton of money of me) 2007 F250 6.0 as far as I know bone stock do I need to be worried about the oil cooler already being blocked or the EGR already screwed over? I can definitely tell him to replace the EGR here i cali for the bulletproof. the headbolts switched to ARB he'll get a little higher cost on.

What would you do? Wait for a different truck or get it built?

Get an OASIS report on the truck from the service department. Have the techs hook up the IDS (???) Ford computer and see what the engine oil temp (EOT) and engine coolant temp (ECT) are reading. Report back with your findings. Make sure you are able to see the ECT and EOT readings yourself. Make sure the truck is up to normal operating temps.

BTW you don't need cheaper hobbies you just need cheap women........

More than likely a Ford dealer will never do a proper headstud/gasket job on these trucks. Ford tells them they can't deck the heads (despite all of us doing it without issues), so if a head is warped they simply replace it with a new one. Great, right? Not really... new one's come in out of flatness spec sometimes too.

ok so, I need it for a few days to have it done, I will say the work won't be done at a dealership but i'm confident the guy putting the heads in will warranty them for a year. It is a 6.0 as I've found which to me is kind of good news although I'm not sure how good of news it is.

It's got around 74k miles, the truck was stolen and the insurance gave a salvage title..NOW the owner says they hit something in the front end and it broke the tie rod, snapped it.. I can get it under 18k though.. so the question is how crazy am I to consider a salvage?

Still looking for cheap women

Don't buy a truck with a salvage or rebuilt title cause if the insurance company paid it off as total, you better believe it was damaged

That's a fair price for a truck with a clean title... for one with a salvage I wouldn't pay anywhere near that.

I dont know where you live but 18k for that particular truck is high imo especially this time of year where people are running out of money and will sell their trucks for near nothing.

I cant stress to you enough don't buy a salvage truck if it has any front end damage it will never ever drive straight because it won't align you will go through tires 2 times a year at the least. I'm just speaking from past experience with 2 salvage trucks I've owned

I've read somewhere that the trucks that actually have a theft recovery salvage title is something like 10%

I wouldn't buy it not for 18k thats for sure but if you really like it do a car fax it should tell you i think

As far as the PSD i just bought mine 2 days ago and im pretty happy. You have to realize every car has their problem areas some worse than others and there is no car or truck that will run forever with out ever facing a problem. What I've established from these trucks is if you fix the egr, oil pump, studs, and get a coolant filter they will run as close to forever as you can get.

All in all me personally I'd forget about that particular Ford. with the price of them right now you can get one hell of a truck for 18 just be patient and you will be a lot happier it sucks too cause I'm sure there is something about this one that makes you "gotta have it" but honestly man is stay away unless it really is a theft recovery but if it is I'd still not pay a dime over 13k maybe 14k depending on the shape of it.

Hope this info was insightful and you find the right one cause you will love it

You can find better deals on some good trucks else wheres. I bought my 07 F350 Crewcab 4x4 with 53k miles for $19k. As for salvage titles. It can be as little as a minor fender bender or a car thats been stolen and later recovered with not much damage. The insurance Co. issue salvage titles to alot of car n trucks with nary abit of damage to them sometimes. Go get a carfax if your still thinking about it. But id still stay away from anything with a salvage title. Another thing with salvage titles. You will be hard pressed to find any insurance company that will issue you full coverage. Most will only give you the lowest limit basic coverage.

I know of a crew cab 04ish with 60k miles on it, asking 18k for it. Spends most of it's time parked in a garage. It's painted orange too, pretty sharp truck. Looked like a small lift, bigger tires/wheels, egr delete, intake, exhaust... pretty sweet ride. I'll get you a link.
