Default 6.0l HPOP

HI everyone
just took my 05 F 250 6.0l in for missing and bucking and hard start when warm it has 152,000 miles egr delete kit AFE cold air intake, has head studs, 4" exhaust. On cold start up is has white smoke like a frieght train then the missing starts the dealer says bad injector on 3 and 8 cylinder thats what my programmer says also they want 1400.00 to do the job. they called today and said the HPOP was bad the reason hard to start when hot another 1300.00 does this seem reasonable or am I getting the shaft.

Typically when an HPOP goes, it wont let the truck start at all... The most common thing on 05's is the snap to connect fitting (STC), they were known to fail on the 05's most commonly. It's far cheaper than that, but labor may be a factor, since it's in the engine valley under the turbo. How do they "KNOW" it needs an HPOP?

I'm not quite convinced that's it, but I can't say it isn't it either. I would be skeptical though.

The smoke and injector codes may not even be accurate, could be weak batteries or a dying FICM. See the FICM test procedure at the top of the 6.0 page.

Where are you located?

I have checked the FICM it has 48 volts and the batteries are charged and the charging system is working not sure how they are determining the HPOP is bad but they said since its tore down for the injectors there wouldnt be any more labor to replace the HPOP. I have a Diablo Sport Predator tuner and it was also giving me the code for #3 and #8 cylinders.

No extra labor to do hpop? Injectors don't say free hpop install,to me . Maybe if I thought it was injector o-ring and missed it and it was hpop...but I still wouldn't do it free

I'm new to all of this diesel stuff but with the cab off and the engine tore down to put injectors in can they even check HPOP pressure with it tore down this far ?

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

I am going to go into the dealer in the morning and have a chat with the mechanic the only reason I am not doing the work myself is I just had 5 hours of Ablation to my heart and am supposed to take it easy for awhile. But man its hard to do that with these prices

Why would the cab be off for injectors.

x3, now if the cab was off to do studs or something of the nature, I could understand leaving it off to do injectors, but pulling the cab FOR injectors? Something's fishy
