Could just be injector o-rings, probably not a huge deal. I hope. Keep us posted.

UPDATE....
Two broken lifters, some bent push rods. engine is out and the head is off. the lifters broke on the top side so no metal went through engine thank god. found all the missing pieces. putting it back together now.... hopefully nothing else will show up.... Who the hell has heard of a broken lifter set.... i have had them collapse on my gas engines if i lay them up for a few years... but a running engine??? odd.

I have heard of a similar problem with lifters breaking in some 6.0s. But from what I read it was pretty rare. Ill try to find the article if I can.

Here is one link to lifter problems. Its not the one I read before but I hope it helps.

Thanks for the link... sure a lot of emotions flying in that one. I wish i was in San diego (where the truck is at the dealer).... but i am in Eastern NC now dealing with storm damage on my farm and another 2 storms literally breathing down my neck. I'd like to bring some of the topics in that thread to the tech working on it.... I asked the service writer to save all the parts they removed and replaced during my absents... i only have cell phone comms with them....

So far... i have 2 broken lifters on the upper side... not the roller.... and one bent push rod. no over revs EVER on the truck while in my ownership of the truck (bought with 45K has 61K now). I was just driving with the cruise control set at 65 mph on a 65 mph hwy. I hadn't towed in 2-3 weeks and then it was only a 3800 lb boat with trailer about 20 miles each way. and babied the engine (to save fuel cost) the previous 3 months. I love the truck...drives, pulls and hauls great. just killing me in my mind with keeping it due to amount of work i have had to do to it in the last year.... even though i know each and every make of truck has it's issues.... I've never had this much with one engine.....

I'll keep updating this thread with any future finds... the engine is going back together now and will be installed soon again, hopefully there will be no further "ISSUES" found.

I've seen the lifters bend and the rocker arms break before. usually it was from over revving the crap out of them, and I mean real high, like 5k+.... I've also seen one case personally where the owner let a blown head gasket go forever and kept adding water to the coolant system... except it was tap water... and it leaked so much that it ended up corroding exhaust valve's into the guides, so the valves stuck open, truck was cranked, piston hit valve, rockers break, pushrods bend... ugly.

Hopefully the final update... Talked to Dealer today... tally for repair costs: $3624.41 Removed the engine. took the driver's side head off. the retainer for the lifter failed. Caused the lifter to rotate in the bore. broke both lifters on the upper sections of themselves. Bend both push rods and damaged one rocker. Engine back in now and runs well PER dealer.... fly back in to Cali from NC Tuesday to pick up. Now on to other car... My Subaru blew it's head gaskets today (over $2k repair) while the GF drove it to work due to her JEEP developing an oil leak a few days ago.... when it rains it pours.....
