What are your fuel pressure readings now? There's a big discussion about this going on over at PSA, and about how regulating behind the heads is better than in front, but I get what you're saying.
BTW, I pay around $32-$35 for a set of fuel filters... I've paid as low as $26 for a set too. All International filters.
