i was cutting the cat and muffler off my exhaust and noticed foil looking stuff coming from turbo down the dp and to bout mid trans, what is this for? is it for sound or heat or both?

 

Prob both. You can take it off if you want, they don't use it any other years...

The 03 turbo is loud as it is, can't imagine it helps much. My guess is it was mostly for heat, but again, they don't use it on any of the newer 6.0's.
