How's the truck start hot? I've played with a few of these at work, and the 04 if I remember right has issues with the revised oil rail for the injectors... Scan tool makes it a lot easier to see hpop... What's been done on truck and how long have you had it? May just have never had updates done on stand pipe and d plugs... Could also be the storm fitting on back of hpop... Update from Ford cheaper than new pump... I've replaced without pulling intake too not a bad job... Let me know what you find, I'm always interested to see what's going to happen next on a 6.0

Yea haven't had it too long just got in the diesel scene it looks pretty stock besides an upgraded cooling system which I haven't really had time to look in to but as far as start ups its normal cranks fine takes a few to warm up idle is a little off but to be expected. Looking forward to puttin some work into once the money is available to do so.

They make a lot of stuff for the 6.0l... Pain in the but to work on but when well maintained I have seen great service in fire apparatus and ambulances

Replaced ICP sensor got some power back but still the idle is a little rough.

Not to sound dumb is this something I have to have a shop do or is there a tool to do this?

Eh, I would find a shop if your not technical. Injectors aren't difficult, getting to them is a pain in the but... But unless you have a way to monitor icp pressure or cutout test it's next to impossible to pinpoint stumbling cylinders... I have heard of running synthetic 10.30 engine oil or oil additives for taking care of stiction... However I have never tried it myself.
If your going to take it to the shop, ask around before you go... these engines are easy to misdiagnose and I always hate seeing people pay ffor 8 injectors to find out it's a cracked standpipe or bad o ring. Check out YouTube... Srmastertech, joediesel, dieseltechron all have excellent videos

I've work on oldier diesels and gasoline vehicle just never came across this and I don't personally have the test equipment there is a shop in town that my friend who has an earlier model gets work done says is pretty fair and legit I'll check it out and see what they say I'll put the work in just need to know what I need to do

Try hot shot secret before you do anything else. It's $50, you add to oil and I have used and seen it with my own eyes. Rough running truck or little miss clears right up if someone wasn't as regimented with oil changes on your truck. (I have friends with farm and aa couple 6.0) Available at tractor supply and everyone around here is starting to use as preventative maintenance on older higher mileage 6.0. Can't hurt and may save you $$$$$ it just cleans the oil side of the injectors, and a good fuel additive for fuel will help prevent problems.

Took it to top frog diesel got it checked out ended up being my number 3 and 4 injectors.
