mdub707, give me input on this... Innovative tune is awesome, hauls *** etc. etc... I live on a ranch about ten minutes up a dirt and gravel road of the highway. Today coming home It was pretty hot high 80's so I had the a.c. cranking , had the truck in four wheel drive to save tires from wheel spin etc... we have a few steep hills on the drive way and I usually drive pretty slow on the way up to the house to save the paint from rock chips... I had the check gauges light come on and realized that the tranny temp and engine temp were elevated from their normal postitions... I assume that the extreme street tune may have been a little much for all these factors (not pushing air through the radiator and tranny cooler + a.c. on in 4wheel drive) and thats why I got elevated temps....? Your thoughts...Anyones thoughts? As soon as i got to the house I stopped and put the truck in park, within ten seconds check guage light went out and temps dropped back down so i assume i was not much hotter than normal. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Those gauges are pretty much useless anyways, but I can't imagine the tune is the culprit here. While it will probably run cooler on stock settings, it shouldn't have been hot enough to do that, I only had that happen once, and I was towing an enclosed trailer up hill in 90* heat, flat footed with extreme street on. EGT's were good, but coolant got elevated real fast.

Did you hear your fan come on at all?

Any major engine work done to the truck ever? Has the oil cooler ever been replaced? What other mods on the truck? (motor wise).

mdub, sorry for the late reply... The truck has been head studded, bulletproof egr cooler'd oil cooler'd, turbo split, cleaned polished, new head gaskets and all filters and fluids changed... I have not experienced the check guages light again on our hill to the ranch possible because I keep the a.c. off on the incline.... So all is good. Check out my irratic idle thread because I would like any input i can get on the matter! This truck is making me a alcoholic! But on the otherhand it is a menacing truck so I love her at the same time! New turbo on the way bro!

Then it probably didn't. You would still hear it. I can feel it through the go pedal. It's LOUD. Could have a number of things wrong that would cause it to not come on. It'd be really nice if you could monitor some of this stuff. I'm not sure how much more I can help from here, I think it really needs to be hooked up to a scanner. Need to know oil temp and coolant temp. Also be nice to see the fan duty cycle %.
