Default White smoke

Have a 2005 F350, Diesel, Turbo. Went on a long trip, no problems, all norm. Started this morn. went less than 1 block, exhaust blowing white smoke, low to no power.

Does the smoke ever clean up? How does the truck run otherwise? Is the truck all stock? How many miles? Were you towing at all? What are the normal habits for this truck, is it always hooked to a trailer or is it a grocery getter?

1. Smoke does not go away. All stock, grocery getter, not towing at the time, otherwise, very limited towing.

How much smoke is there? Also what's the coolant level look like? Exhaust smell?

Smoke-when giving gas, big cloud of white smoke exits. Coolant: Just below min. level in overflow. Smell??? But there was water on the ground beneath the exhaust pipe

Blown egr cooler would be my guess. These are classic symptoms. Where are you located? If you're not in California, I'd recommend a full delete, in Cali check out bulletproof diesel. When it's smoking like that, try and smell the exhaust smoke, if it smells sweet, it's coolant, if it burns your eyes a little and smells rough, it's fuel, so a different problem.

These 6.0's like to be worked, don't be afraid of the skinny pedal on her, especially if you don't tow much. (unrelated, just saying).

As a temp. replaced the EGR. Will take your advice and do a full delete.
How urgent is the change out??
Any other problems I should be looking for? Have about 106k on the truck.

Replacing the EGR valve likely won't do a thing. The cooler needs to be replaced or removed. When the motor is off you have a strong chance of coolant leaking into the cylinders, which could lead to all sorts of not fun things, such as hydrolock. You'll go out to start the truck one morning and it wont turn over. I'd get it taken care of sooner rather than later, this problem is only going to get worse, not better.

If you're tearing in to do an EGR delete, replace the oil cooler and add a coolant filter to the truck to keep it reliable.

Are you going to be doing the work yourself?

Are you familiar with working on these things? An EGR delete really isn't hard to do, just time consuming and possibly frustrating. As long as you can turn wrenches you can handle this stuff, it's really not bad. Where are you located?
