Default Just bought an '06 Powerstroke!

Hey I just bought a '06 powerstroke. As far as I know this truck is stock other than an airaid filter. Anything I need to do to this truck to insure a long life? It has 110k on it now and runs strong. Thanks!

I would also add a set of head studs just for piece of mind.

EGR delete, rebuild the oil cooler, head studs, coolant filter, switch to synthetic oil, etc..... For around $10g, you can have a bulletproof 6.0L. I have around $5500 in mine and its just getting there.

Synthetic Oil, EGR/cooler delete, coolant filter setup, and a new oil filter/screen. That will get you a long ways. Dont worry about head studs untill theres a problem.

this made me laugh $10k is a lot just to make a stock 6.0 reliable.

I would say EGR delete for sure, and if you're going to run tuning on it, get head studs.

You change the stuff so you don't have to use the warranty.
