i have a 04 f 350 and it seems to be drinking the coolant faster then i can put it in it can find any leaks or any thing of that sort. just wonder what u guys thought could be going on or if something is wrong with it or what i have no clue what to look at or what to look for. the temp is fine.

 

is it leaking coolant? if it aint leaking, i would say most likely its the egr cooler

 

are you making oil?
Are you smoking?

 

Yep, possibly an EGR cooler leaking into the intake. Do you see any white smoke from the tailpipe?

Just a warning: if the EGR cooler is leaking into the intake, don't be supprised if you go to crank it one morning and the engine is locked up.

 

Could it be a head gasket? I have gone through 3 gallons of antifreeze and there is bluish gray smoke coming out the tail pipe?

If the head gasket is bad do you have to pull the cab of the truck?

 

Could be a headgasket, need more info to diagnose. The smoke you describe sounds more like fuel. Could be bad FICM, or injector/s. Need more info. What does the smoke smell like? Sweet like coolant or burn your eyes like fuel?

You do NOT have to pull the cab to do gaskets, but it'd be silly not to if you can, it's the quickest and easiest way to do so. If not, it can be done cab on a variety of ways, or pull the motor.
