Default noise

I've got a 06 PS when it starts it makes a noise from the passenger side and goes away when its warm at idle. When its warm under load it will make the same noise and jerk the truck until I power through it. Any ideas.

What's the noise sound like? How many miles on truck? Anything else out of ordinary? Any smoke on start up? Color of smoke? Any mods to truck?

The noise sounds air leaking, but no visiable problem. The truck has 120,000 miles. Standard black smoke when started. No mods,I had ford put there coumputer on it and no codes were thrown.

Shouldn't have black smoke on start up....!?

Is it a high pitch whine or more like air rushing? Could just be the turbo? Does it only do it at idle? If you put your foot on the brake and drop it in gear and just hold it there, does it still do it?

Ford has a newer flash out that cycles the turbo vanes at idle to prevent them from sticking and you'll hear it cycling up and down sometimes.

It sounds more like air rushing, the turbo does wind up and down until its warm. This noise doesn't sound like the turbo, i had a turbo go out on my older 04 wich blew the engine at the same time it went out. It goes away when its warm and then starts again when its under a load going uphill. The truck allways has a 20' trailer behind it. my best guess is that its the up tube has a crack, but it doest sound like a whistle. And I live in a state where we cant do the egr delete. The other thing with the turbo is that the boost is normal and thats what has me guessing. If i hold the brake in gear and give it gas it will make the same noise, then you can hear the turbo as normal.

I would start by inspecting all of the intercooler boots real well. They've been known to split on the bottom where the oil collects in them. Maybe a video would help too. Real hard to guess without hearing the sound. Usually an up-pipe will be a high pitch whistle like you said.
