Default DIY FICM Repair?

Any DIY FICM repair success stories out there if so how long has the fix lasted? Trying to figure out if I should do it myself or shell out the $$ to fix it.

Well i just replaced my second ficm today i took the old one apart and i couldnt see any signs that it had gotten hot and the solder looked good, so it gave me doubts as to the repair.

The repair will and can work, you're not going to see the failed solder with the naked eye. I've got one apart right now, should have it soldered up next week and back on the truck for testing. Then on to the 58V hot mod....
