Default blow turbo replacement

hey guy's I blew my turbo in my 04 6.0. It's leaking oil from the turbo and the oil housing, it aslo has excessive play in the turbine bearings . So I'd like to put an aftermarket turbo in instead of another stock and I'm thinkin the Garrett powermax . I have an aftermarket warranty I bought when i bought the truck so the dealer told me its $13000 to $1400 for a stock turbo. They said they would let me put the money toward a different turbo and install it if its bolt on. Anyone have any experince with the Garrett and also do i have to put bigger injectors?

Thanks, dave

Stock injectors will work just fine. An SCT with custom tuning really make this turbo sing well.

Garrett powermax receives good marks from a number of folks. I'm still running a stock turbo that I just took apart and cleaned the Unison Ring and Variable Veins and is very responsive now. If I were to go aftermarket, I would likely go with the Powermax.

Go with the powermax. You can get them for $1250 shipped. You will be fine with stock injectors. A programmer will definitely help though (SCT).

Thanks guys. I already got the sct and I'm gonna hopefully order the turbo soon. Just wanted to make sure I wouldn't need injectors and just see what everybody thought about the Garrett

Nope the powermax is a great step up, it can be run on stock trucks but will support more horsepower and airflow than the stock turbo can. It's a great replacement and at the price of it, why anyone would buy another stocker is beyond me.
