Default Egt probe?

Should the egt probe be installed before the turbo in the manifold or after the turbo in the down pipe?

Left Bank exhaust manifold as it begins the downward turn is where I drilled and installed mine. Just make sure you use a magnet to remove metal shavings if you install it there.

Best option is in the drivers side manifold on the 6.0, pre-turbo. You want the numbers on your gauge to closely represent the cylinder temps as much as possible.

Also make sure you don't put it right in line with an exhaust port, try to put it in the elbow of the manifold where it starts heading towards the up-pipes. It's pretty easy to do if you crawl under the truck.

I think that is where I'll put it I'll have the motor running while drilling that way the pressure will blow out the shavings.

Same way I installed mine, but still be careful not to push real hard while drilling. Small shavings as you penetrate.

don't do it while its running. bad idea. the shavings while drilling will get shot right into the turbo. theoretically
