The 6.7 seems to be proving itself quite well already, I wouldn' hesitate to buy one if I had the money.

If his 03 is paid off, maybe look into a cummins swap. Might be worth a call to Beans diesel.

Hmmm.... a Government truck, **** box, or a The number 1 selling truck for i believe 33 years in a row now..... Wouldn't take much thought for me. I think i'd rather stick with ford and do my preventative maintanence mods and keep up with my Oil and fluids and stay in a comfy, now bulletproof (depending on your maintanence) truck, but hey thats just me. What happened here isn't a common problem i've heard of unless i'm wrong. A fluke. It sounds to me like they're getting jerked off and not in the good way. I would get a solid diagnosis of the problem and go from there. If i had the coin and i were in their shoes i'd move to a 6.7 POWERSTROKE. Damn... i cream in my pants a little every time i say that

Either way let us know what happens. Good luck

Update:
Looks like they are going to get a new 2011 6.7l truck. Ford is gonna give my parents
$26K in trade for their busted truck. They tried deals with Chevy and Dodge but they would only offer $12k to $15k for trade. My parents are freaked out about the 6.0l blowing up again if they replace it. And the dealer changed from the original lifetime warranty on a new motor to only 3 yrs 50k miles warranty. $40k for a new 2011 Ford f350 king ranch crew cab long bed dually after trade and their back on the road Ill confirm tomorrow whats gonna happen. Thanks for all the helpfull posts.
