oh ya Im well aware of what their problems are. when I get one it will get an egr delete, coolant filter, bypass oil filter and head studs then an SCT probably with innovative tunes. I just want to check the oasis reports on the ones im interested in so i can find out how recent its had stuff fixed such as injectors, head gaskets exc....

I had 2 of them and you couldnt give me one now. But the sct is a good choice and do the head studs. Thats wat killed my 06. My 04 just kept blowing the stuff off the turbo. With the mods you are chosing from wat i have been told.(i am no expert) you should be fine. I also had injector problems with mine.

Hope that helped. Sorry none of the other ford guys gave you their .02

and I have to ask, which head is the best one to get studded? Driver, passenger?

I've blown my headgaskets twice already, once with ARP's installed, running nothing more than Erics x-race tune. I also fried a torque converter, but that was probably all my fault. Some of them hold up fine, some don't.
They can be good trucks if you take the preventative action.
Since you're aware of the problems and are just looking for an Oasis, I'd stop by powerstrokenation.com or powerstroke.org or even thedieselstop.com someone on there can probably help you out. It's been increasingly difficult to get an oasis done from what I've seen. PSN used to have a section just for that, but it's gone now.
Your local dealer should be able to do it as well...

2 questions, why did you get rid of your sweet 12 valve? and why are you opting for a 6.0 psd? a 7.3 has no EGR, way more head bolts, and a lot more simplified. it takes more $$ to make power with a 7.3. my dad has an E-350 with a 6.0 with about 45k on it, it runs great but leaks like a siv. a few friends with 6.0s in F series trucks have had injector problems. (heui injectors are not cheap either) they all have their problems but its all in what you plan on doing with the truck, if you want reliability and simplicity, not bashing anyones trucks, but i'd get a 7.3

If you have your heart set on a 6.0L then get one. As you said all trucks have their issues. Sounds like you are going into this with the right attitude. Plan on deleting the EGR and studding the heads. Doing an aftermarket coolant filtration system is a good idea too. Get the aftermarket oil cooler from Bulletproof Diesel also. Get an aftermarket turbo too, the stock turbos just don't last very long. Of course you are going to run into a few guys that have had very few issues with their 6.0L but a large majority of them have tons of issues.
Also think about getting an aftermarket crank case vent system. BD makes a nice kit that will no longer vent the crank case into the intake system, so no more oil in the intercooler pipes, no more boots blowing off and no more coating the turbo fins in oil.
Just a few things I have run into over the years that we have had to fix for customers. But the nice thing is there are great companies out there that make the parts required to fix it right.
