Gas milage question
#11
I know this isn't my domain (DMax guy) but from what I know on most newer trucks get better mileage with tailgate up. It creates a low pressure swirl behind the cab which acts like having a tonneau cover on. Also try to keep RPMs below 2000 helps a bunch. Ditching the EGR will help and maybe PVC Reroute. Not sure if anyone offer a kit for that.

The tail gate thing doesn't go either way, it will get better mileage with it up. It has been proven through numerous independent tests. I believe mythbusters even did a show on this.
A tonneau cover would still be the best, but don't go spending all this money expecting to get 20mpg because it's just not going to happen. A D-max will get better mileage than a 6.0 all day long. They are lighter trucks and just get better mileage, no way around it. Now a dually getting 22? Doubtful.
