I need a new ficm for my truck, mine quit one me wednesday. i am looking a possibly getting one from swampsdiesel.com. i was wondering if anyone has had any dealings with them? the other thing i am wondering about is i see an option for a 48 and a 58 volt ficm. is it worth the extra $50 for the 58 volt job and is anything extra need to be done to support this. any opionions would be welcome.

I'm considering sending mine to swamp diesel to get resoldered and ramped up to 58 volts , then they could send to innovative to get reflashed. I've read where this improves fuel mileage. Haven't done it yet, nor do I personnaly know anyone that has done this yet. keep us posted. can swamps repair yours ? before spending big $$$ on a new one.

You can repair it yourself, I've posted the article on how to test it and repair it several times on here. Just search it quick, it should come up. Pretty easy to do and should save you some moneys!

Swamps is great to deal with. My FICM went out and i got the 58 volt, but i haven't had a chance to drive it yet because i took my turbo off to clean it and now i can't get the dang y pipe to seal up to the inlet on the turbo but if you do alot of heavy pulling they suggest you don't get the 58v. Contact Dave Armstrong and he can give you plenty of advice on it. I'll PM you his contect info.

I don't mean to highjack this thread but I couldn't find your repair in the search, please provide a link.

Thanks

thanks for the info guys. when you jump it up to 58 volts, do you need to do anything extra to support the higher volts or not?

How is jumping it up to 58 volts supposed to help? I'm not too familiar with this, so I'm just wondering. Is this any different than say having it tuned by Innovative or PHP?
