Default more troubles with my 6.0

My 04 is acting really strange. when i'm cruising down the road and hit a bump or rough section i will suddenly lose power. the water in fuel light will come on for a few seconds and then i'll get all my power back and run fine. i have drained the water/fuel seperator and changed the fuel filters but it will still do this. The truck has even totaly shut down a couple of times but starts right up again. The truck has around 180,000 miles and all the injectors were replaced about a month or so ago, 4 were bad so i had then all done while it was apart.
FICM was replaced last Aug.

Any ideas on what this could be?

Thanks for any info.

I'd check to see if there are any loose wires. If it happens when you hit a bump it sounds like a loose connection.

I was thinking electrical as well and checked what i could. I decided to take it in to the dealer. got within 8 miles and it started doing the same thing again. Truck went into limp mode and it was a really long 8 miles . Dealer is also saying electrical and is trying to trace the problem. It's bad when the ealer says you have the dreaded 6.0

its never good when the people that work on it say anything like that. Kinda make you disappointed. Its not like they are cheap trucks or anything.

you got that right. i'm very dissapointed in this truck. Dealer called today and said they still can't find problem but they want more money to keep trying to find it. I'm thinking of packing it in and going back to a gas engine.

From my personal experience, most of the techs who work on the 6.0s at the dealers I've been to, seem to know less than I do, and this is my first diesel. It scares me. There are a lot of good techs on the Ford boards though. They're not all like that, but some are.

Are you on powerstrokenation? Sign up on there and post in the 6.0 tech section, Dough (aka PSDplayer) is a WHIZ with these motors and electrical gremlins never slow him down!

There are many techs out there but there are some inexperienced ones out there also. You have to find the knowledgeable ones and hope they aren't going to retire soon. If you love the diesels like I do you can't let something like this slow you down. The more you go through the more you know also. Just soak up all you can when talking to the right people.

problem solved. turned out to be a rubber insulator under the F.I.C.M. that was missing causing a grounding issue. Still going to trade it in i'm tired of this thing 1000 dollaring me to death . this fix cost 300 because it took so long to find it.
