Default Coolant Cap

I'm having a problem blowing coolant out the cap on my resevoir tank. My question is a buddy has an '03 E-series with the Powerstroke thats going to be sitting for a week. He told me I could try his rad cap out and see if its just a bad cap that I've got. It looks the same as the one on my 04 Powerstroke and same psi limit. Are they the same cap that I could just swap them out for a week and see what happens or are they different? Thanks for any guidance. CHeers

If the cap doesn't work it's either the EGR cooler or more likely headgaskets.
