what do you guys think of the 05 6.0 powerstroke? are they very good? any major problems?, I'm wondering cause i found one with 179k and it was for $14900, is it a deal?

 

Take the VIN to your Ford dealer and ask for an OASIS report. This will give you a repair history on the truck as long as the work was done at a Ford dealer. It will shed some light on the past issues.

All in all they are good trucks and great motors. You just got to take care of them as you would any other vehicle.

 

I don't have one yet, but have done my research on this site and a couple of others. It really depends on what your plans are with it. If you are leaving it stock, it's great and will last with regular maintenance. If you are going to bomb it then it will need some upgrades to prevent costly repairs, ie, head studs and egr delete would be big ones. Get the OASIS like Heavy said and a carfax, both would be worth it, to find the history.

It's a pretty good price though
