Check Poll... Dielectric Grease on Engine Harness Connectors

I am installing all new (3) harness on my 2003.

QUESTION : Of the many, many, many plastic clip connectors.......

What is your opinion of using Dielectric Grease on the new harness ?????

Yep the only thing it hurts is if you use too much and get it on your hands.

I vote yes, but not mandatory on sealed type connectors IMO.
If i remember right ford had a problem with the alternator plug and the new alternator came with a note to change the connector and came with some dielectric grease in the kit. We use General Electric DC-4 dielectric grease in aviation. I even put it on my batt terminals to keep down corrosion.

XG-3-A I think is the Ford number, but I can't remember offhand.

Go into the Ford part department and ask for the electrical grease used in the ABS connector recall on the escapes.

Not needed on a Weather-Pak connector.

Too much will cause connection problems on a regular connector.
