Default 6.0L Head Gasket or EGR question

My buddy has an 06 f-250. He brought it in today for steaming white smoke out of the exhaust. The head gaskets and turbo were done 3,000 miles ago by Ford. I started pulling it down tonight to look at the cooler but it got dark. No antifreeze in the oil, but there is also oil coming out of the turbo and going all the way in the intercooler (really thick).

Do you guys think oil cooler, egr cooler or head gaskets and studs or all of the above. All help and comments would be great.

Oil coming out of the turbo is probably a bad thing, but it will have oil coming out of it if the CCV is hooked up.

Pull the front housing off the turbo and see if the seal is pissing oil out behind the compressor wheel.

Pull the EGR valve out and see if it's wet with coolant. Failing that, jack the *** end of the truck up with the valve out and pressurize the cooling system, it will leak coolant into the intake where the EGR goes, it's pretty easy to see - just don't overdo it or you WILL hydrolock the motor.

So if the EGR valve is wet it is definitely the cooler?

Worked for International. the VT365 is almost identical, you would think I would remember this.

I too have a customer of mine that has smoke on with mild fuel (throttle) input. Have not done too much diag. because it got late but I am presuming it is cooler.

more than likely yes.. mine was wet, and you could see where the fluid was cleaning the soot out of the intake. threw on a delete kit, and now mine runs awesome!
