Default Exhaust and EGT's

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I run an 06 with a SCT xtreme street tune, stock exhaust, when I put it to the floor the EGT's spike to 1250 so fast (within a sec or 2) that I have to let off. My question is would a 4" exhaust be enough to allow me to stay in it longer? Maybe a 5"? What is your guys experiance? I've seen the vids of these monster burnouts, how can they stay on the gas that long?

I have a 5" turboback and Airaid intake on mine and the EGTs get crazy on mine very quick too so I dont know what exactly these guys are doin, but I'm getting a new intake elbow shortly so hopefully that will help the situation out as well.

I was also wondering what is considered too high on the EGTs where I should set my defuel point.

Five inch will help some but from a performance point, usually is'nt recommended untill around 450-500 horsepower. A water methnal kit would be an excellant option for less money and would have a greater impact on dropping those egts and adding some power to boot.

I've always heard don't stay above 1250 deg for very long, but what's not very long mean in time? I guess we must all have the same problem. Water/Meth or intercooler may be the option to help, I don't know. Thanks for taking the time to respond guys.
