Default Restore & restore plus

Restore i unbelievable ! I put the whole gallon in and ran for about 2 hours on the freeway. I could not believe what came out. When i drained the radiator the water was really milky. Then the lower radiator hose, this is where a lot of goop plopped out. Then the coolant filter, a ton of stuff when I turned it upside done. The driver engine block had even more. I hd to to do the passenger side and just as bad as the driver side.

I did 4 full water flushed and drained both engine plugs each time. I continued to see silicate goo. It was getting less and less and not as thick, but it was still visible. So I went and got another gallon of restore and out it in and ran for two hours on freeway. The first drain was bad, but it as bad as the first time. Two more water flushes and now the water is clear, without silicate visible.

In my opinion it is a must to drain Both engine blocks. AS this is where the worst stuff seems to settle. If you use a allen key , you can get behind the starter and get it out. After the 3,4,5 time you will have a feel and can doit blind folded.

I am so glad I decided to do this and for all the well written blogs bring this to light. Gold is no good. Don't use it. This engine can go for few 100000 if you use the right coolant.

I let you know how the restore plus goes tomorrow.

Today, I did restore plus, I put one gallon in for the system. Ran two hours on freeway and drained. It came out green in color and smelled like battery acid. Some flakes of debris but nothing to crazy. I flushed 5 more time with distilled and each time it got lighter in color and smelled less.

The truck is running awesome, I noticed the engine sounded more hollow. It feels like the day I bought it. Its like my truck had pneumonia or bronchitis with all that goo inside. Now it can finally breathe. I noticed on my scanner the calculated load went down as well.

If you want your truck to last without major engine troubles. Drop the gold and anything with silicate in it. Use restore to flush out the goo. Repeat restore if you are still seeing goo. Also many are afraid to flush in fear of clogging the oil cooler.

One thing that will help keep the goo away from the oil cooler is not to remove the thermostat. If you do you will definitely be recirculating everything all over your engine. This is why you have to remove both block plugs. The majority of the goo came from the block. With the thermostat in, the gunk stays in the block until you drain it.

I say this with respect, if your running gold motorcaft or similar with silicate. Your crazy.
