should i buy this 2006 ford f250
Hey guys, I'm new here. This will be my first diesel truck and my first membership to a diesel forum. I've read for years but never was able to buy me a diesel until now. I have some experience with diesels and read a ton of information on everything I've looked at. I'd like to have a 5.9 cummins but around here the price jumped tremedously. There are 2004 modles going for almost 30xxx bucks right now so I'm looking at trading my half ton ram for a Ford diesel. Sorry but I'm just not a Chevy guy so I don't want a duramax.
I found a 2006 Ford F250 powerstroke. It only has 94xxx miles on it and it's pretty clean. I checked it out and it has had head studs installed, S&B cai and it's only had 2 owners. It runs very well. I'm pretty sure my dads 1 ton dually would be it in any race but that's not why I want or need a bigger truck.
My question is, what else should I be looking for when I look at purchasing this Ford. I know of the problems the 6.0 has had but I'm hoping that if someone put the time and money into the head stud job then they did the egr delete as well and replaced the gaskets. Should I just stay away from the 6.0 altogether or check it out again? The dealer is asking 17 for it but they have had it for quite some time now and want to work with me of course.
Thanks for any advice in advance and I look forward to your replies.
