Default Better fuel mileage??

Ok guys, I got new heads, bolts, new stage 1 cam, 175 injectors, t4 turbo and up pipe, ficm was sent in for tune, and I have a livewire sct tuner, oh and fuel pruess regulatory system. I was getting 22.4 mpg in the mountains of PA, then my turbo took a **** and it went down to 17mpg roughly, I replaced the turbo and took my truck cross country and the best mpgs I could get was 19mpg. Am I missing something here? Do I need to leave my tuner constantly plugged into the truck? Can someone assist me in getting the mpgs back?

When the turbo failed, did it dump oil in the intake? And have gotten your intercooler cleaned before installing the new turbo? Because that can effect your turbo efficiency.
Or when you installed the turbo back on, did you properly install the down pipe and the up pipe on to it. Any leaks your here that have appeared since the instalment?
These are just things that came to mind.
But as for the tuner, if it's Plug or not, I don't really know if it makes a difference though. That I'm not sure. Did you try it with it plugged? Doesn't hurt to try.

No we did not clean the inner cooler and pipes, it was dumping oil into the inner cooler and out the exhaust. Problem resolved now with new turbo, been traveling 3400 miles and not a drop of oil loss. Up pipes and down pipes were installed with cab off, when we put the new turbo on none of that was changed, so very sure up pipe and down pipe are not the problem.

MPG update: for some reason now after 3200 miles on the road traveling, the last 200 miles have been been 25.6-26.5 mpg @70mph
