I'm new here and fairly New to diesel's although this is my second one...I'm pretty Diesel stupid. Here's my question...Has anyone ever just cut off their exhaust behind the cab and what can I expect (other than it being louder) I put a ton of money in this motor and I do not want to F it up. Thanks for any and all advice/tips!

 

A straight piped 6.0 is pretty sweet sounding!! I'd run it out the side to keep the fumes from getting back inside the cab.

 

Get yourself a good MBRP 4" straight pipe exhaust. They sound sweet

Fwiw I get a lot of compliments on how my 03 6.0 sounds with 4 in MBRP turbo back with muffler. ( cat. . What cat?) It was worth it to me to get kit and drop it in. If you have fab shop access you can maybe save a few bucks but why reinvent the wheel? I did it in buddies driveway in less than 2 hours and we sold a car while doing install! No howl or drone and still pretty throaty without drowning your favorite music!
