Tuner Mishap?
I have a early 03, 6.0 auto 4X4 with 120k miles, 4" exhaust, Garrett Powermax turbo and SCT tuner. I replaced the turbo and tuner approx. 10K miles ago. It was set on the 80 HP canned tune, ran great, with no problems, UNTIL.
I gave it to my grandson for graduating from NCK Tech with a degree in Diesel Technology.
First thing he dose is put it on the MAX tune, that's when the problem starts. It has blown the O ring on the ICP sensor, so he replaced the sensor and pigtail, a week later the o ring blows again. He says the problem is everything but him.
As I understand it when the tuner turns up the fuel the oil pressure goes up as well, as the injectors work off oil pressure, is this right? He says that's not what's wrong, I think it is, what do you guys think?
